Bayview Glen School is seeking a dynamic and service-minded Manager, Retail Operations to lead the daily operations of the Bayview Glen School Store and create a welcoming, well-organized experience for our students, parents, and School community. Reporting to the Executive Director of Advancement & External Relations, you will oversee the thoughtful management of uniforms, branded merchandise, and other essential items, ensuring they are readily available and aligned with the needs and standards of the School. The Retail Store Manager provides direct supervision to the part-time Assistant Store Manager and oversees Parent Volunteers.

What You’ll Be Doing:
• Serving as a welcoming face of Bayview Glen for all School Store visitors, including new and incoming families, by providing warm, knowledgeable and helpful support;
• Booking appointments for uniform fittings.
• Sourcing merchandise to identify optimal suppliers;
• Ensuring uniforms and branded merchandise comply with design standards;
• Maintaining inventory levels in accordance with School requirements and schedules, sales levels, space availability, seasonal trends and specific demands;
• Assessing sales patterns and identifying/recommending items for mark-down/discontinuance and researching trends to identify and recommend new items to add to inventory;
• Training, scheduling and overseeing Parent Volunteers in providing assistance to customers and support overall Store operations;
• Ensuring the Store is open and properly staffed as scheduled;
• Providing assistance to students and parents in ordering and purchasing uniforms, merchandise and other necessary items;
• Reviewing and reconciling purchase orders, packing slips, merchandise received, returns and credits;
• Managing the approved Store budget; reconciling and managing daily cash;
• Providing website support for the Store’s online ordering platform to ensure an accessible, convenient sales experience for all parents and staff
• Collaborates closely with the Business Office and Marketing/Communications to ensure School Store operations align with School reporting requirements, brand standards, and established processes.
What You’ll Need:
• Completion of a post-secondary diploma or degree in Retail Management or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience, with a minimum of three years of progressively responsible retail management experience.
• Demonstrated knowledge of retail management principles and best practices, including purchasing,merchandising, customer service, and inventory control.
• Experience applying retail management practices within an educational or institutional environment,with an understanding of School-based operational cycles and customer needs.
• Proficiency with retail and sales technologies, including point-of-sale systems, cash handling, credit and debit transactions, sales accounts, charge-backs, and related retail software.
• Strong customer service orientation, with the ability to lead and model respectful, effective interactions with parents, students, staff, suppliers, and other stakeholders.
• Ability to analyze sales data, assess seasonal and School-cycle sales patterns, identify trends or variances, and adjust purchasing and inventory strategies accordingly.
• Awareness of current retail and merchandising trends, with the initiative to recommend new products or improvements to enhance sales and customer experience.
• Experience developing and maintaining online retail experience that is responsive to community needs, accessible and convenient for students, families, and staff.
• Demonstrated sensitivity to pluralism in customer interactions and product offerings, ensuring a respectful, welcoming environment that reflects the diverse needs and perspectives of the School community.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills, with strong attention to detail and accuracy in a fast-paced retail environment.

Compensation will be commensurate with qualifications and experience, with an annual salary range between $63,500 – $79,000. This salary range is what we, in good faith, believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. We ultimately pay based on a number of non-discriminatory factors that inform pay decisions including, but not limited to, previous work experience, skill set and internal equity.
